Rachel Summerfield
Rachel Summerfield is a Chicago-based painter and sometimes writer with a background in theater, set design, and creative writing. Interested in opposites, fantasy and story, Baroque and Romantic art, nature, vanitas, and irreverence, she finds a way to honor themes of loneliness and queerness within the home of art.
Last year, you may have seen her debut gallery show at Hairpin Arts Center's GLOW UP, and she is a participant in the live painting competition ART BATTLE. She is a member of Poems While You Wait, a traveling typewriting poetry team. You may find her work in acrylic paint at @rannsumm_arts on Instagram.
