Amber Doniere
Amber Doniere is a New York based artist living and working in Harlem. She is originally from Wilmington, North Carolina and received her BA in Elementary Education with a concentration in Art from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is currently studying Studio Art in pursuit of a BFA at Queens College. Doniere is a multimedia artist focused on actively learning new media and honing specialties. Doniere was a two-time Artist in Residence with the Honors College at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Doniere has exhibited her project Home to Haarlem a at Queens College in Flushing, NY.
Artist Statement
Amber Doniere’s work features universal themes of the human experience framed by her identity and life experiences. She examines the links of her present day experience to the past in an attempt to understand social issues through recognizing, preserving, and changing realities through visual storytelling. Key themes portrayed within her work are social change, identity, conflict and adversity in order to create moments of reflection, discussion and connection between individuals.
