Raya Chatterjee


Raya Chatterjee is an Indian classical vocalist and multi-instrumentalist from West Bengal, India. She won the Classical Voice of India 2021 competition, as well as numerous state and district competitions, and has been featured on national TV. She honed her vocal skills from a very young age through rigorous training. She currently studies Indian classical with Ustad Mashkoor Ali Khan, Rabindra Sangeeta with Chitra and Chandan Munshi, piano and improvisation with Michael Harrison, Elliot Cole, and Stacy Fahrion, and violin with Ledah Finck. Beyond the classical realm, she also explores Western pop, finding inspiration in the contemporary sounds that shape the global music scene. While music occupies a significant portion of her life, she finds a complementary balance in her academic pursuits as well as sports. Besides being an active badminton player, she is an aspiring mathematician.
