Patricia Milton

Patricia Milton is an award-winning playwright whose plays have been performed in New York, Boston, Istanbul, San Francisco, and places in between. Her values are: laughter, candor, artistic excellence, determination, integrity, generosity, and feminism. She writes plays that encourage audiences to explore ethical questions and consider what is truly of value. She is a Resident Playwright at Central Works in Berkeley, CA.

As an artist-in-residence at Arts, Letters & Numbers, Patricia is immersed in writing a full-length play whose working title is "Without Mercy." The play examines the issues surrounding the death penalty in the U.S. and witnesses the effects of a woman’s murder on her surviving family members. Are some acts unforgivable? Is the death penalty justice, retribution, or a combination of these? How can victims – and society – best obtain peace after a violent act?
