Introducing: Haft Cinema

We are thrilled to share Haft Cinema, written and conceived by Sarv Gersten.

Haft Cinema is a bimonthly proposal for a film screening in the form of a text and a programme. Haft Cinema seeks to celebrate a wide range of filmmaking which is attendant to ambiguity; intellectually generous, and hellbent on doing its subject justice. Central to this project is an ardent hope to gather people together, live and in-person, to watch films. Each new issue is an invitation to organise a screening of the proposed programme, anywhere you are, at any scale you can.

Issue I is coming on April 2nd, 2025. Please sign up to the newsletter if you would like to be involved. In the meantime, you can learn more — and read about Haft Cinema as a ‘consent to distance’ — at haftcinema.net.
