/ Description (I Love You Project)
From fairytale whispers to everyday conversations, the universal words ‘I love you’ transcend cultural, linguistic, and personal barriers. For over a decade, artist Pamela Heller has captured these words in a kaleidoscope of voices, creating the I Love You Project, a collaboration that celebrates the power of love and human connection.
In partnership with Steven Lawrence, artisan and career educator within the humanities, this structural installation aims to raise the voice of love - wherever it stands.
Designed and developed by Pamela Heller and Steven Lawrence, this monument to love is to be presented on Mother’s Day weekend at the annual Tulip Festival in Albany, N.Y. (May 2025). Over the coming months, workshops and sessions will be hosted at Arts Letters & Numbers to engage the community in hands-on multi-sensory workshops using storytelling, music, poetry, and art, inspiring experimentation with words and symbols that speak to the voice of love.
Standing 10’ tall, the Kiosk will be embossed with multicolored glass mosaic by the hands of community members; participants’ designs will cover its entirety, creating an elaborate installation that engages people in a poetic and engaging work of public art.
Additionally, the Kiosk will contain within it an LCD display projecting the compilation of the faces and voices collected throughout the series of workshops. Our community members will join the chorus of voices already composed.

/ Workshop Overview
During the months of March - May, workshops will be hosted at Arts Letters & Numbers inviting community members to contribute to the building of the Kiosk.
Guided by Pamela and Steven, these workshops will run 4-8 hours in duration and can be developed for any age range or group. Any grade-level field trips from local and surrounding districts, community group trips, local townships, or even individuals wishing to visit alone are all opportunities for community engagement and development.
Workshops will include discussions around the history of the project, success stories, and hands-on engagement in the build. The artistic medium was specifically chosen to allow for the individual expression of each person while providing a lasting form that effectively incorporates the work of each participant.
Throughout the series of workshops, the mosaics will grow to cover the entirety of the structure—leaving a lasting impression of the loving energy put into its development.
