Peter Rednour
My primary interests are queer male sexuality and our relationships with each other as well as with the natural world. I hope to challenge the standard narrative of gay men as a group that are exclusively interested in urban areas. I am also interested new definitions of family and social groups especially as queer sexualities adapt and transform conventional social structures. I am also interested in personal approaches to documenting and archiving day to day life.
My current approach is through letters and care packages, sometimes to myself to document a trip or particular point in time, but most of my work takes the form of care packages to friends and lovers, creating packaging for CDs, DVDs and short written pieces to accompany small gifts and unusual finds related to the theme of the work. I also create small zines and hand drawn books and am starting to work with clothing and other fabric projects.
