Krista Brand
Krista Brand is a multidisciplinary artist and curator working in ceramics, painting, installation, printmaking, and words. Krista’s interest in landscape, identity of place, discarded objects, and the emotional currency of materials has informed her artistic practice. Her recent work explores everyday encounters with litter and plastic waste, slyly questioning aesthetic and cultural value systems by examining and reframing cross-sections of urban landscapes.
Krista completed her MFA at Washington State University in 2018 and has earned multiple fellowships and awards for her work. She has exhibited in WA, ID, OR, IL, NC, and self-published two artist books. Krista regularly participates in arts communities in eastern Washington, serving on the curatorial team for a university gallery and as a member of a regional arts cooperative.
