ALN’s Campus Expansion: La Perla Restaurant & Gregory House Country Inn

We are thrilled to announce that Arts Letters & Numbers has acquired La Perla Restaurant & Gregory House Country Inn in Averill Park, NY! This marks a significant milestone, as we expand our campus and deepen our commitment to fostering creativity and community engagement. At ALN, food and community have been core to our mission from the start. The welcoming atmosphere of our artist residencies, workshops, and global and local conferences have been anchored by communal meals since our founding in 2011. With La Perla and the Gregory House Inn, we will continue in this tradition, providing a space where artists and community members can come together, share meals, and engage in meaningful exchanges.

La Perla, located just 1800ft (550m) from our campus, will serve as a vibrant extension of our mission, as we will welcome both ALN participants and local and regional residents, to eat together, embodying our commitment to community engagement. Moreover, the country inn will be open to the public for tourism, and allow us to provide more diverse accommodation options to our residents and participants, ensuring that everyone who comes to ALN finds a place to stay where they feel at home.

We recognize the vital role of community in our evolution. We seek to honor the rich heritage established by former owners Anna Maria and Alfonso Acampora, and build on their traditions as we bring forward the next chapter. By integrating this historic inn and restaurant into our facilities, operations, and mission, we create a unique venue that invites the community to experience the essence of ALN, and gives our participants new ways to engage the community. With new programs like Craft 101 bringing over 50 people from around the world to our campus this summer, we see the importance of broadening our cross-disciplinary interactions. The inn enhances our accommodation capacity and expands our mission. By placing La Perla at the heart of our community, we foster an inclusive environment that contributes to the area's cultural fabric, supporting a wider range of activities and collaborations across artistic disciplines.

We are excited about the possibilities ahead and are committed to ensuring that this new chapter inspires, connects, and engages with our community and beyond.
